Banff Canmore Community Foundation wanted to touch on the idea of personal truth in their community newsletter. The message they originally pitched was aligned with the belief that no matter how much effort you put into something, you will always be limited by inherent societal inequalities that dictate the measure of your success. While I recognize there are undeniable fundamental discrepancies in how different demographics interact with specific power structures, I believe we are defined and, in turn, limited by our everyday actions more than anything else.
